Join us in a free interactive workshop on "Improving Family Communication and Understanding Mental Health: Active Listening, Emotional Expression, and Mental Health First Aid". This session is specifically designed for ethnic minority community families and aims to enhance your and your children's listening skills, as well as assist them in expressing their feelings healthily. Active listening can foster a healthy and open parent-child relationship, resulting in improved communication, comprehension, and problem-solving within the family dynamic.

It is crucial for children to develop strategies for effective emotion management, which in turn enables them to cultivate social-emotional skills. As children gain social and emotional awareness and proficiency, they can more effectively navigate relationships, regulate their emotions during challenging situations, and engage in problem-solving. Encouraging the open expression of positive emotions and fostering warm, supportive relationships between parents and children are key factors in promoting effective emotional self-regulation.

Additionally, the workshop includes a session on the essence of Mental Health First Aid (MHFA). In this session, you will learn how to identify symptoms of mental health conditions and apply basic management techniques to support them.

Through various engaging games and psychological techniques, we will guide you on how to become a good listener and help your child identify, assess, and manage their feelings healthily.
