The Mental Health Project Team at the Division of Public Policy, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, along with one of our lay leaders, has been invited to serve as guest speakers for the enlightening workshop titled "The Role of Communication in Maintaining Positive Mental Health", hosted by H.K.S.H.K Outreaching Team for Multicultural Community.
Designed with Hong Kong's multicultural communities in mind, this workshop aims to highlight the critical role of effective communication in fostering positive mental health. By attending, participants will delve into the realms of mental health, active listening, assertive communication, and reflective skills. All of this is set within an engaging and dynamic learning environment.
A pivotal part of our workshop is dedicated to the basic principles of Mental Health First Aid (MHFA). This segment provides attendees with crucial knowledge and practical abilities to assist someone during a mental health crisis. Our objective is to enable each participant to respond confidently as a first responder, offering initial support and guiding the individual towards the care of trained mental health professionals when necessary.
